Grandma's Spaghetti

2 Cans Campbell's Tomato Soup
1 Can Water
3 Teaspoons Chili Powder
1 Pound Hamburger
Spaghetti Noodles

Combine soup, water, and chili powder, and heat until warm.
Brown hamburger, and season to taste with garlic salt.
Boil and drain noodles

Put noodles on plate. Follow with hamburger. Top with sauce.
Serves two.

That's about it, folks, but I promise it's one of the best spaghetti recipes you'll ever find. My dad's mother used to make it, and my mom made it, and two nights ago my wife and I made it. It was one of the best meals I've had in a long time.

(hey tarlo, reply to this with your Alpha Sigma Sigma chili recipe. That stuff rocked the shingles right off our house. And Andy, if you're out there, reply to this with your "it taste just like the stuff we used to get in school" chili recipe. Now if only we could find those cinnamon rolls...)

Alpha Sigma Sigma's Butt Burnin' Chili Recipe:

The exact portions in this recipe are decided as you cook. Consistency is nice, but having fun is better -- and anyway, who likes following rule? This is the guess and check method. "Guess" your portion is enough, "Check" it with The Big Wooden Spoon taste test. Always follow the Bob Barker Rule of Seasoning: Better to stay under than go over. I have no idea how many times Ive ruined good chinese food with too mych soy sauce.

Also, its better for your chili to be thick, not juicy, so dont be afraid to add tons of burger and veggies and beans. If you are making lots like we used to, buy more stuff than this and make a Crock pot full of the good stuff (according to the recipe) and use the rest to make an overflow batch on the stove. Experiment with the overflow batch. Put in chicken or crushed yellow corn chips or something. See where it goes. :)

*Two quart-sized cans of Tomato Juice + one resealable jug (again, the guess and check method.)
*6 cans of spiced chili beans.
*1 can stewed tomatoes
*1 carrot, three stalks celery
*Big package of lean burger (2.5 lbs or so?)
*One package chili seasoning
*Salt and pepper

Step 1 -- Painstakingly open all the cans of stuff you just bought.
Step 2 -- Brown and strain burger adding salt to taste.
Step 3 -- Heat Crock Pot or Giant Stove Pot while adding in two large cans tomato juice, stewed tomatoes, veggies, and 4 cans of beans.
Step 4 -- Stir in chili packet. Do not get in eyes.
Step 5 -- Add strained burger
Step 6 -- Look in your crock pot. Is the consistency too juicy? Not juicy enough? Figure it out. Add beans or juice to fix consistency problem.
Step 7 -- Heat at medium for 8 hours, covered.

Feeds lots! Add crackers and it feeds more! Good times!

Andy's Kick 'yo A chili:

1 can (16 oz) chili beans (drained)
1 can (16 oz) kidney beans (drained)
1 can (16 oz) diced tomatoes (drained)
1 can (16 oz) tomato sauce
1 can (10.75 oz) tomato soup
1/2 c garlic & herb seasoned bread crumbs
2 pounds chili meat (Russ's carries it, basically beef diced to about 1/4-inch cubes). Ground beef will work also.
1 white onion, diced
1 1/2 tsp crushed garlic (about 2-3 cloves)
2-3 tbsp chili powder (to taste)
1 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
1 tbsp cumin (to taste)
4 diced jalapeƱo peppers
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tbsp honey
1/2c to 1c water (to bring to desired consistency)

To reduce the spiciness, cut back on any of the following: jalapeƱos, cumin or chili powder.

Brown the meat, drain the grease, and then combine all ingredients in a crock pot. Cook on low for 6-8 hours stirring occasionally. Guaranteed to make you sweat!

Easy Veggie Lasagne

1 box of noodles (recipe uses 12-15 noodles)
1 tub light ricotta
2 cups mozzarella
2 eggs
1/2 cup grated parmesan
1 box frozen chopped spinach
2 jars spaghetti sauce (we use 2 32-ounce jars of Classico brand. 24-ounce jars are fine, but the dish will not be as juicy. Don't get Prego or Ragu...make sure to spring for something with more taste)

Boil noodles. Cook spinach in microwave.
For filling, mix ricotta, drained spinach, parmesan, 1/2 cup mozzarella, and 2 eggs.

In baking pan, spread 1/2 jar of sauce on bottom. Then, layer as follows:
Noodles
1/3 of filling
1/2 jar sauce 1/2 cup mozzarella

Repeat twice

Bake for 30-45 minutes
